Help Us Fix Our Roads!

Putnam County residents are in the hole.  Literally.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Senator Joe Manchin, Representative Alex Mooney:

West Virginia Legislative Leaders:

West Virginians have always been supportive of coal, oil and natural gas, and the good jobs the industries create.

Too often, energy corporations have taken advantage of our good nature.

A pipeline was built through the heart of our community.  Putnam County residents were promised our roads would be repaired.   But, each day residents are subjected to vehicle damage from the poor condition of roads affected by the pipeline.  Please help us hold everyone accountable.

Make them fix our roads!

Our roads are bad and they need fixed. All they do a patch and it doesn’t last long and since the pipeline workers have travelled are roads they are terrible.

Hi! I know I’m not a resident of your county or your state. What I am however is a tourist and frequent visitor to your state and counties to bike on your usually gorgeous and lightly trafficked roads. I’ve been noticing in years past how much damage the roads there seem to have and keep as a result of the heavy truck traffic brought on by the fracking and related industry’s boom. I do stay at places in Ritchie and Wood counties. We enjoy the rural area, the proximity to Ohio, the restaurants of Parkersburg and Harrisville as well as countless places we visit on our rides in these areas. The condition of the roads lately has got us looking for other places to visit and ride.

I know the government in West Virginia prides itself on the labor of the residents there (I refer to the oft repeated “heavy lifting” remarks) but what you and the extraction industries are doing to your infrastructure is not sustainable. We don’t have to come to West Virginia to ride. We don’t have to spend money there either.

We’ve been observing how some regions have embraced tourism dollars over the extraction industry to their great success. I’d ask you to consider this instead of continuing to sell your state, it’s resources and it’s people to the highest extraction industry bidders.

The road needs to be fixed all the way out! Crown hill is completely washed out from underneath and half of it is gravel now from the pipeline trucks.

I’ve found roads all over the state that have been destroyed by pipeline construction.

Please fix our roads. we pay taxes too. And money has been allocated for this VERY purpose!!!!

It is a shame our good country people get the shaft. Please do what’s right. We have suffered through traffic delays, Depleting terrible road conditions, and an high volume of traffic on our small back road. On which I must come to complete stop in spots to allow those large trucks and tractor trailers to pass. Adding time to my work commute during these past month of construction of the pipe line. We have paid the price. And it is soon coming time to make good for our suffering and inconvenience. Our children have to endure these tragic road conditions on our rural bus routes and it is becoming a hazard to them also. Please do what is right and just for our rural community. Repave our rural roads that have been damaged from the pipeline progress. you have ignored them long enough. Repave In spring of 2020 !!!!

Never seen our roads in such bad shape. I find it completely unacceptable to inspect my vehicle to be road worthy when our roads are not worthy to be driven on safely.
